As everyone knows, one of the best methods for improving the efficiency of your organization is finding ways to save some of the time you, your co-workers, or your employees spend doing their work. Some of the best candidates for saving time are those activities which are currently being performed manually. In our latest release, Approval Manager has introduced a new auto-routing feature that can help your proofing managers shave time off their proof management activities and increase the speed in which proofs make the rounds through approval stages.
Auto RoutingConsider the following actual customer scenario: A business runs 100+ proofs through their organization each week.  Phoebe, their proof manager, uses Approval Manager to create each proof, assign a multi-stage approval workflow template, and adds several files to each proof. Until recently, Phoebe had been manually moving each file within each proof to the next stage once everyone had given their approval (or approval with changes). If a file was rejected, Phoebe would manually route the file back to production.

The new auto-routing feature of Approval Manager provides several options that help Phoebe save time by automating many of her activities. For example, settings are available to:
  1. Automatically route the file to the next stage when every member of an approval stage has approved the proof,
  2. Automatically route the file to the next stage if every member has approved the proof OR approved the proof with changes,
  3. And of course, you can always manually route the file - either to the next stage or to a user-selected stage.

Using this new auto-routing function, Phoebe only needs to route a proof when someone has rejected the proof or when an approval stage needs to be skipped. This allows her to concentrate her efforts on other work. In addition, since the proof will move to the next stage automatically once everyone has completed their review (approved or approved with changes), the proof gets into the hands of reviewers in the next stage right away, and isn't delayed until Phoebe can route it.

Think of the time savings!

If you find yourself working like Phoebe used to work, give this a try and let us know what you think. Feedback is always welcome and helps us provide you with the new features and capabilities you need!
